Sundays

  • 3:30-4:30pm Hip Hop Choreo 1/2 with Tierra Coleman (ending June 22)

    This class with be about exploring music, movement & style. It will lean harder on the intermediate level but it will be a great place for returning dancers/beginning dancers to feel comfortable to challenge & enjoy themselves. My goal is to create an open level space where everyone walks away feeling like they did that!

  • 4:30-5:30pm Jazz Funk Choreo 1/2 with Dan Perez

    This will be a beginner level jazz funk class. Focusing on textures, lines, & exploring movement. The style will be jazz funk based while being influenced by contemporary hiphop, & commercial dance. The genres of music will fall between R&B, hip hop, pop, alternative & more.

    This class will be moving to Tuesdays at 8:45pm starting 8th.

  • (starting July 13th) 6:30-7:30 Intro to Contemporary (foundation + choreo) with Erkah Gomez

    Contemporary dance was born in the mid-20th century. It was inspired by modern dance. Contemporary is all about freedom and bending the line. It’s a form of movement that’s always evolving and merging with every art form.

    This class is a series that requires students to sign up for all 6 classes; purchase a 6-pack class first, then use your code to sign up.

Tuesdays

  • 7:45-8:45pm Choreo 1/2 with Kimy Calva

    This class is level 1/2 - for beginners it will be a good way to challenge your retention, and more intermediate students will be able to focus on intention and performance. My style of choreo leads towards jazz funk, commercial dance, and a bit of hip hop as well. The type of music we will be dancing to will mainly be pop and r&b.

    Kimy is directing Drop Squad Summer ‘25, this class is a requirement. Sign up here!

  • 6:00-7:00pm Reggaeton Choreo 2/3 with Erkah Gomez

    Reggaeton 2/3 is mainly for intermediate and intermediate/advanced level students but also for whoever wants to learn how to dance at the rhythm of el dembow and have fun while learning. Erkah has a strong contemporary background so you will work a lot with big wavy movements and sometimes a little bit of floorwork. Mostly we’ll dance to songs by women but also to some good old reggaeton songs.

    This class will only be available in June.

  • 7:10-8:10pm Jazz Funk Choreo Level 2/3 with Kimy Calva (ending June 25th)

    This is a Jazz Funk level 2/3 class. Aimed toward intermediate dancers, this class will push you to retain choreo while focusing on the performance and character side of dance. Kimy's style of choreo is a huge mix- commercial dance, hip hop, jazz funk, etc. As far as music goes, she loves femme artists, pop music, dance music, new hit songs. Check insta [@kimycalva] before class to find a song reveal for the day! This class is great whether you’re a beginner looking for a push, just want to have fun in a dance class, or really want to grow!

  • (starting July 9th) 6:00-7:00pm Hip Hop Choreo 2/3 with Jade Jordan

    This class is geared for intermediate level dancers who are looking to evolve in hip-hop based choreography in a pressure free environment. Jade has been training in various styles since she was a toddler and makes it a priority to share her accumulated knowledge with her students. You will explore skills relating to retention, levels, freestyle, and overall confidence building under her weekly classes. She looks forward to welcoming you!

Thursdays

  • 6:30-8:30pm July 10th-Aug 28 DROP SQUAD REHEARSAL: BEGINNER TRAINING

    SUMMER APPLICATIONS OPEN- LED BY KIMY CALVA

    July 10th-August 28th; 8 weeks

    DROP SQUAD CREW - is Drop Zone's performance and training crew for beginner adult dancers (21+). No auditions required and flexible commitment. Work on gaining confidence in your dancing though mixed-styles choreography, performance techniques and individual feedback. Deepen your understanding of grooves, musicality, and rhythm. This season will be primarily jazz funk and sensual based, but Kimy, our director also has a background in hip hopped reggaeton. Training is better with a supportive community!

    To allow you flexibility in your adult life, DROP SQUAD runs in 8 week sessions. You can join this training for as many sessions in the year as your schedule allows. Summer rehearsals will be at Pitch (5300 4th Ave S).

    Drop Squad prioritizes enrollment for BIPOC dancers in order to foster a diverse community in which they feel comfortable. All are welcome although we must ensure the group is at least 60% BIPOC.

  • 6:30-8:30pm July 10th-Aug 28 DRIP REHEARSAL: INTERMEDIATE TRAINING

    July 10th-August 28th; 8 weeks

    DRIP - is Drop Zone's audition-based performance and training company for intermediate adult dancers (21+). Drop Zone's audition-based training company for intermediate adult dancers (21+). While hip hop and jazz funk will be the primary focuses of this company, our director, Lex Ramirez, is also experienced with reggaeton, house, and street styles. Elevate your dancing in a supportive community!

    To allow you flexibility in your adult life, DRIP runs in 8 week sessions. You can join the company for as many sessions in the year as your schedule allows, as each session will have a new instructor with a new goal. Summer rehearsals will be at Yaw theater (6520 5th Ave S).

    DRIP prioritizes enrollment for BIPOC dancers in order to foster a diverse community in which they feel comfortable. All are welcome although we must ensure the group is at least 60% BIPOC.
